According to Chamberlain, the company’s goal is to expand the best Ukrainian drone technologies in the UK. They selected Mildenhall, a town near a Royal Air Force base, for this purpose.

Operations are expected to begin early next year, with production starting soon after, as reported by Militarnyi.

Having a dedicated runway for drones will enable continuous testing and development. Without it, the company faces restrictions, such as needing approvals, and is unable to carry out classified or risky experiments or swiftly enhance its models, as the outle reported.

The runway will allow the company to test autopilots, sensors, and navigation, evaluate UAV performance in challenging conditions, and ensure safety for civilian aviation.

Ukrspecsystems is also investing $250 million in a new facility in Mildenhall, which will include an 11,000 m² plant and a testing and training center in Elmsett, Suffolk.
