Ukrainian Defense Factory Opens in the UK, Offering Drone Solutions From Frontline Experience

The first Ukrainian defense factory has officially opened in the United Kingdom, according to Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK, Valeriy Zaluzhny, on February 25.
Operated by Ukrspecsystems , the facility focuses on the production of drones that have proven effective in modern warfare.

Zaluzhny emphasized that Ukraine continues to fight under the constant threat of missile strikes, infrastructure destruction, and risks to manufacturing capacities.
“Our engineers create solutions born directly from frontline experience. They improve systems not based on theoretical research but on the results of real combat applications,” he said.
He also pointed out that the launch of the production facility in the UK has deep strategic significance.
“This is not about relocating the focus from Ukraine. It is about expanding our joint capabilities and creating a second line of resilience, ensuring the continuity of production,” Zaluzhny added. “We are creating a new quality of partnership, where allies not only support each other but also form a shared industrial security base.”

According to the ambassador, Ukraine, this project offers a foundation for stability and long-term planning. While for the UK, it strengthens its defense industry, provides access to technologies proven in modern war, and creates new employment opportunities.
Meanwhile, another Ukrainian drone company, SkyFall, known for manufacturing the Vampire UAVs, is in discussions with the Danish government about opening a production facility in Denmark.
Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen, along with his Ukrainian counterpart, has discussed the potential for another Ukrainian defense production facility in Denmark.

“Denmark has been one of Ukraine’s strongest supporters since the start of the war. Initially, through donations and training of Ukrainian personnel, and later with investments directly in Ukrainian defense industries based on the Danish model. Now we are beginning talks with the Ukrainian company SkyFall about setting up production in Denmark,” the minister said.
Earlier, Yuriy Cherevashenko, Deputy Commander of UAVs for Air Defense in the Ukrainian Air Force, stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have greatly improved the effectiveness of their UAV interceptor drones within the air defense system.
