Ukrainian soldiers of the "Ronin" unit from the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade successfully destroyed a Russian BM-27 "Uragan" multiple launch rocket system.

The video of the strike was shared on the unit's page.

Operators of the drone systems detected a camouflaged rocket launcher concealed in a shelter near the front line. The strike drone targeted the rocket guides, although this did not result in the detonation of the ammunition. Nevertheless, the vehicle still caught fire.

Currently, "Uragans" are relatively rare targets due to their sporadic presence on the battlefield, which is linked to the limited stock of 220-mm rocket shells in the Russian military.

Detecting these systems is complicated by their deployment at significant distances from the frontline and their tactical approach, as they leave their firing positions immediately after completing their tasks to avoid counter-battery fire from Ukrainian forces.

According to the international OSINT project Oryx, at least 89 systems of this type have been confirmed as destroyed or lost since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion.

The Russian military continues to develop this capability by producing new units.
