Ukrainian unmanned systems carried out long-range strikes on two major Russian oil refineries overnight on August 30, targeting facilities in Krasnodar region and Samara region, according to Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Drone Forces.

Brovdi reported that operators of the 14th Separate UAV Regiment, working with the Special Operations Forces, hit the Krasnodar refinery, located about 400 kilometers from the front line.

In a separate strike conducted with other elements of Ukraine’s defense forces, drones reached the Syzran refinery in Samara region, roughly 1,000 kilometers from Ukraine’s border. Both facilities are key suppliers of fuel and lubricants to the Russian military.

The Syzran refinery, operated by Rosneft, is one of the largest in southern Russia with a reported annual capacity of 8.5 million tons of crude oil, producing gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, fuel oil and bitumen.

The Krasnodar plant processes about 3.1 million tons of crude annually, representing approximately 1 percent of Russia’s total refining capacity.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian drone strikes knocked out 17 refining units at ten Russian oil refineries, cutting 14% of the country’s total processing capacity.
