A Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet successfully targeted Russian positions, releasing American eight precision-guided GBU-39 SDB bombs. This operation was documented in a video shared on the Telegram channel Sunflower, associated with the Ukrainian military aviation.

According to the channel, the strike focused on concentrations of assault groups and ammunition storage sites in the Zaporizhzhia region. The aircraft involved belongs to the 114th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The publication highlights that utilizing eight bombs simultaneously enables the aircraft to engage multiple targets, even when these are located at significant distances from one another. The video captured the moment the MiG-29 dropped all eight bombs and subsequent footage showed the impact on ground targets.

The GBU-39, classified as a Small Diameter Bomb (SDB), weighs approximately 113 kilograms and is designed for precision strikes against ground targets while minimizing risk to the launch aircraft.

With a range exceeding 100 kilometers, these bombs allow Ukrainian aircraft to operate beyond the reach of enemy air defense systems. The GBU-39 features a foldable wing design that significantly increases its effective range while maintaining stealth characteristics.

Earlier, on October 15, Ukrainian Air Force Su-25 jets conducted an airstrike against Russian forces, utilizing American-made Zuni rockets. The attack, carried out by aircraft from the 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade, targeted a building occupied by Russian troops.
