The claim that Russia is capable of producing 25 Oreshnik missiles per month is false, stated the Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation Andrii Kovalenko.

Recently, various English news outlets spread information about Russia's ability to produce 25 Oreshnik missiles per month,

“The publication through which this disinformation was disseminated in the world serves as a tool for legitimizing narratives favorable to Russia and facilitating their wider distribution,” Kovalenko wrote.

He added that due to sanctions, Russia's production cycle for high-tech missiles has significantly slowed.

“While they continue to produce X-101 and Kalibr missiles, accumulating them through the intensive use of Shahed drones, the production of more advanced missiles, such as the Kinzhal, is limited to just a few units,” Kovalenko said. “The ‘Oreshnik,’ with an even more complex production cycle, cannot be manufactured at the claimed scale, making such reports deliberate misinformation.”

He stated that the intent behind the claim is to instill fear within Western societies.

The Oreshnik is a ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads. It was first used by Russia in an attack launched on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro on November 21. Earlier, Belarus was linked to the attack on Dnipro, having supplied the Federal Scientific and Production Center "Titan-Barricades" in Volgograd, which was involved in the development of the Oreshnik system.
