A Ukrainian resistance operative embedded in a Russian artillery unit helped guide a precision strike that destroyed a Grad multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) and killed several Russian soldiers, the Atesh guerrila movement reported on July 7.

The agent, operating from within the 503rd Motor Rifle Regiment’s artillery battalion, had been covertly monitoring the location of the Grad system for several weeks.

According to Atesh, real-time intelligence was passed to Ukraine’s Armed Forces, enabling a successful targeted strike.

“Thanks to the timely transmission of information, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to deliver a precision blow. According to unofficial reports, one Grad launcher and at least five crew members were eliminated,” the statement read.

Although the Russian command has not released official casualty figures, internal signs of panic and disarray have emerged within the unit.

Atesh claimed that troops are “frantically changing positions” and “unable to explain how the enemy acquired such precise targeting data.”

“The work of our agents is a daily, meticulous fight. We operate behind enemy lines, dismantling the occupier from within,” the movement said. “Each destroyed crew, each disabled artillery barrel, is a step closer to liberating Zaporizhzhia.”

Earlier, agents from the Atesh partisan movement embedded within Russia’s 12th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment reported successful overnight strikes on Russian military targets in the Simferopol district of occupied Crimea.
