A partisan unit of the Ukrainian-Crimean Tatar resistance movement ATESH has claimed responsibility for sabotaging a key power substation in Russia’s Bryansk region.

The attack reportedly disabled electrical infrastructure in the Volodarsky industrial zone, affecting critical military logistics facilities.

According to a January 18 statement by ATESH on its official Telegram channel, the operation targeted a substation in the village of Bolshoe Polpino, which supplies electricity to the nearby Polpinskaya railway station. This rail hub is used for transporting ammunition and military equipment to the front lines.

The power outage has reportedly disrupted automation systems and caused delays in Russian military shipments. In addition to rail operations, the substation also powers several regional facilities linked to the Russian Ministry of Defense, including the Bryansk repair plant and fuel storage sites.

The latter are said to be experiencing technical issues with pumps and safety systems due to the loss of power.

The partisan group described the facility as a “critical node in the enemy’s energy system” and stated that the operation was designed to “paralyze rear-area operations.”

Earlier, on January 7, ATESH claimed responsibility for destroying a communications tower in Kursk, Russia, reportedly severing links used by the FSB, the 27th RCB Defense Brigade, and other military units in the region.
