Ukrainian Photographers Reflect on Displacement and War in “Home: Perspectives” Exhibition in Norway

On February 24, marking the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Home: Perspectives Ukrainian photography exhibition will open at the Preus Museum, Norway’s National Museum of Photography, as reported by Ukrainian Pravda.
The exhibition brings together works by photographers from different generations, offering different perspectives on the theme of home.
We bring you stories from the ground. Your support keeps our team in the field.
According to the curators, Home: Perspectives covers several key moments in Ukraine's recent history: from the 1990s miners’ protests , the 2013-2014 Revolution of Dignity, and the annexation of Crimea to the ongoing war with Russia.
Through various photographic methods—ranging from classic black-and-white documentary to mixed techniques and constructed images—the exhibition presents not only major historical events but also personal stories of the artists. These include themes of displacement, loss, service, life during the war, and efforts to preserve the sense of home.
The project will run until September 30, 2026, and is dedicated to the memory of photographer Kostiantyn Huzenko, who was killed in a Russian missile strike in the East of Ukraine on November 2025. Following the start of the full-scale invasion, some of the featured photographers became war correspondents, while others joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The exhibition was originally created by Viktoriya Bavykina, Maksym Horbatskyi, and Open Eye Gallery for the Eurofestival—the cultural program of Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool, which hosted the competition on behalf of Ukraine. Following that, the project was showcased in five British cities, with the final stop being at the Parliament of the United Kingdom in February 2025.
The project features Ukrainian artists-photographers: Vik Bakin, Lіya Dostalieva and Andrii Dostaliev, Kostiantyn Guzenko, Emine Ziyatdin, Valeriy Miloserdov, Oksana Parafenyuk, Volodymyr Petrov, Serhiy Polezhaka, Polina Polikarpova, Andrii Rachynskyi, Darya Svertilova, Yaroslav Solop, Elena Subach, Anya Tsaruk, Nazar Furik, Ihor Chekachkov, Oleksandr Chekmienov, and Anton Shebetko.
Earlier, a Museum of Ukraine opened in Berlin to coincide with the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion. The exhibition is located within the Berlin Story Bunker.
The project was launched at one of Berlin's most frequented museums. Organizers describe it as the first museum outside Ukraine focused exclusively on Russia's war against Ukraine. Its goal is to present European audiences with the realities of the war, an experience many have not encountered directly.
