Ukrainian Sea Drones Launch Heavy UAVs to Destroy $300M Worth of Russian Radars in Crimea, Video

On the night of July 1–2, Ukraine’s Southern Defense Forces conducted a coordinated high-precision strike that resulted in the destruction of three Russian radar assets from the 55Zh6M Nebo-M series.
The operation combined maritime drones with fixed-wing UAVs known as “Lazar,” showcasing a layered use of unmanned systems in a deep-strike mission.
Footage released by Ukrainian forces shows a maritime drone navigating into position before deploying a large aerial drone directly from its platform.

Once airborne, the UAV proceeds toward the target area, carrying an explosive payload. The drone maintains steady altitude over hostile territory before releasing the munition, which strikes a radar installation moments later in a direct hit captured on video.
The targets included:
One RLM-M radar unit
One RLM-D radar unit
One Nebo-M command and control post
Each element played a role in Russia’s long-range air surveillance and air defense coordination. The cost of such a radar systems exceeds $300 million.
The Nebo-M system is designed to detect a wide spectrum of aerial threats, including stealth aircraft and ballistic targets, and has been a high-value component in Russia’s radar architecture.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate unveiled advanced naval drone carriers capable of launching airborne and surface-strike UAVs. Featured in the documentary Naval Combat: The Drone Era, these unmanned platforms—equipped with NATO-style AI and Starlink connectivity—have been used in strikes on Russian targets in Crimea, including boats and air defense systems.
