The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is set to convene an emergency session today, November 27, in response to Russia’s recent attacks targeting Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

The meeting, scheduled for 5 p.m. Kyiv time, follows an official request from Ukraine. Sergiy Kyslytsya, Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN, confirmed the session on social media, stating it will address the ongoing “criminal strikes by the aggressor on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.”

The discussion is expected to cover the November 21 launch of a new Russian ballistic missile targeting Dnipro. This attack comes amid a series of strikes that have severely damaged Ukraine’s energy grid and other vital facilities.

In the early hours of November 27, Russian forces carried out a large-scale drone assault involving 89 UAVs, including Iranian-made Shahed drones and unidentified models. Ukraine’s air defense successfully neutralized 36 drones, limiting further damage.
