As part of the PEACE in Ukraine project, the United States and the World Bank have provided Ukraine with $485 million to cover social and humanitarian expenses in the state budget, as announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on December 27.

The funding includes $465 million from the United States via USAID and $20 million from the World Bank.

“These funds will be used to offset social and humanitarian costs in the state budget. We are deeply grateful to the United States, USAID, and the World Bank for their significant support to the people of Ukraine,” Shmyhal said.

Previously, Ukraine has received the first $1 billion installment of a $20 billion loan from the United States, backed by proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
