US Reveals Weapons List as Part of the Latest $225 Million Aid Package to Ukraine

On June 6, the US has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth approximately $225 million. Today it was released what weapons will be included:

• Ammunition for HIMARS multiple rocket launchers

• M113 armored personnel carriers

• Missiles for HAWK and Stinger air defense systems

• 155mm howitzers and artillery shells

• Patrol boats and trailers for transporting heavy equipment

• TOW heavy anti-tank missiles

• Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems

• Small arms, night vision devices, other equipment and spare parts

US President Joe Biden announced the aid package during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Paris, where both leaders were commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Allied landings in Normandy during World War II.

On that same meeting, Biden apologized to Zelenskyy for the extended delay in supplying military assistance to Ukraine.

“I apologize for the weeks of uncertainty about whether it would be funded, because we had trouble passing a bill that we had to pass, which had money from some of our very conservative members who delayed it, but we got it done,” Biden said.
