US Strike Reportedly Disrupts Iranian One-Way Drone Attacks by Destroying Launch Equipment, Video

US forces destroyed an operational Iranian launch site used to deploy Shahed-type one-way attack drones, according to Defence Blog on March 2.
The report said the US Central Command released a video showing the strike after surveillance by a reconnaissance unmanned aerial system.
It described the target as a concealed operational location where drones and launch equipment were stored.

In the footage, a surveillance drone observes the site before munitions hit the launch area. The strikes appear to destroy equipment assessed as supporting drone launch operations.
The report said the site was an active operating base, not only a storage depot.

Officials did not release casualty figures. They also did not disclose the exact strike location, citing operational security. The strike followed confirmation that the location supported preparing and launching attack drones.
Shahed-type drones are loitering strike weapons designed to fly to pre-programmed coordinates and detonate on impact. It said Iran has relied on such systems for long-range strike missions.

The report added that a similar drone reportedly struck the British Royal Air Force base RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus. Preliminary reports cited by the story indicated no casualties and minor damage to airfield infrastructure.
It added that destroying launch infrastructure can disrupt repeated drone attacks by removing key equipment.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian forces targeted drone launch infrastructure to disrupt repeated Shahed-type attacks on the frontline and rear areas.
