Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,320 Troops and 69 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,320 troops, 69 artillery systems, one aircraft and one helicopter over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on September 3.

According to the latest Ukrainian military figures, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,492,350.

Russia’s cumulative tank losses remain at 12,324, while another armored combat vehicle was recorded as lost over the latest reporting period, bringing the total in that category to 25,264.

Artillery losses climbed to 49,085 systems after another 69 were recorded over the past day. Ukrainian figures also showed four additional Russian multiple-launch rocket systems and two air defense systems lost, bringing their respective totals to 2,085 and 1,600.

Russia’s aviation tally also increased. The General Staff reported one aircraft and one helicopter lost over the past 24 hours, raising cumulative losses to 441 aircraft and 355 helicopters.

Another 12 unmanned ground systems were recorded as lost, bringing Russia’s total to 2,476.

Ukraine also reported 1,875 operational-tactical UAVs lost during the latest 24-hour period, raising the cumulative figure to 496,021. Another 10 cruise missiles were recorded as lost, bringing Russia’s total to 5,070.

Russia’s other estimated losses stand at 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 143,150 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,628 pieces of special equipment. Over the past day alone, Russian forces lost another 435 vehicles and fuel tankers and three pieces of special equipment.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed 215 times across the front over the previous day.

Russia carried out 98 airstrikes, dropping 353 guided aerial bombs, according to the General Staff. Russian forces also deployed 10,672 strike drones and conducted 2,933 strikes against Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 25 involving multiple-launch rocket systems.

Earlier, reports emerged that Russian forces lost 124,170 personnel on the battlefield during the three summer months of 2026, including more than 42,000 in August.

According to the General Staff, Russian personnel losses totaled 39,290 in June, rose to 42,860 in July, and reached 42,020 in August.
