Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed that residential apartment buildings in the city of Ternopil were struck by Russian cruise missiles X-101, launched from strategic bombers Tu-95MS and Tu-160MS on November 19, Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine wrote in a Telegram post.

These missiles were launched from airbases in the Vologda and Astrakhan regions of Russia, targeting civilian infrastructure. The missiles were fired from six Tu-95MS aircraft based at Olenya airfield and four Tu-160MS aircraft based at Engels and Ukrajinka airfields.

Authorities are investigating the missile debris to document this latest terrorist act by Russia against Ukrainian civilians, Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

Initial findings indicate that components of the X-101 missiles were sourced from companies in the US, China, Taiwan, Germany, the Netherlands, and other countries, showing the continued use of international components despite sanctions.

By 4:00 PM, debris from one of the missiles, which struck a nine-story building, was identified as an X-101 missile manufactured in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Ukrainian authorities emphasize that such tragedies, like the one in Ternopil, could be avoided if Russia were unable to bypass sanctions against the state sponsor of terrorism.

Previoiusly, it was reported that Russian drones have destroyed another large warehouse storing medicines for one of Ukraine’s biggest pharmaceutical distributors in an overnight strike on the city of Dnipro, according to Ekonomichna Pravda.

One of the country’s largest pharmaceutical distributors, Optima-Pharm, lost a warehouse in Dnipro when Russian forces attacked the city with drones, damaging industrial facilities, warehouses, production sites, and cars, the Dnipropetrovsk regional prosecutor’s office said.
