Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined plans for his upcoming US visit, which will coincide with the UN General Assembly. The trip will include a summit on the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, with 38 delegations confirmed, as well as the Crimean Platform that will also be a key event, attended by around 30 countries, Zelenskyy told to press on September 20.

Zelenskyy highlighted upcoming bilateral meetings focused on business, technology, defense, and economic cooperation, alongside a major economic summit.

“There will be a large number of bilateral meetings. Business, technology, defense, mineral deals. This will be combined into one large economic meeting,” he said.

He will meet with US President Donald Trump, and the First Ladies of Ukraine and the US will discuss humanitarian issues, particularly regarding the abducted children.

Regarding a potential meeting with Russian leader Putin, Zelenskyy stated that any talks would depend on a ceasefire or peace progress. He emphasized the need for stronger sanctions against Russia, particularly for energy purchases, urging Europe to take action without delay.

Zelenskyy also reaffirmed Ukraine’s readiness for talks, but noted that Putin has shown no willingness to engage.

Previously, NATO had confirmed that four aid packages under the Priority Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) program have been financed, with two already on their way to Ukraine.
