Ukraine and Czechia have signed an agreement to establish a “Unity Hub” for Ukrainians in Czechia, marking the second such center in Europe. The goal is to maintain connections between Ukrainians abroad and Ukraine while encouraging their eventual return. Plans are in place to establish similar centers in other countries.

The document was signed on May 5, just before a press conference in Prague with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

The agreement to create the “Unity Hub” for Ukrainians in Czechia was signed by Ukraine’s Minister of National Unity, Oleksii Chernyshov, and Czech Minister of the Interior, Vít Rakušan.

During a joint press conference with Fiala, Zelenskyy stated that such centers would be opened in “many countries with a significant presence of Ukrainian citizens.”

According to Ukrainska Pravda, Zelenskyy specifically mentioned Germany, where the process has already begun, as well as Spain and Poland, adding that the United Kingdom could also become one of the countries to host such a center.

On February 5, it was reported that a recent survey conducted by the Central European Digital Media Observatory revealed that 68% of Poles and 44% of Czechs want Ukraine to win in Russia’s war.
