ATESH Partisans Destroy Russian Drone Warehouse Before UAVs Could Reach the Front

The ATESH partisan movement said its agents destroyed a warehouse containing Russian drones in the Sverdlovsk region that were being prepared for deployment to the war zone.

According to ATESH, the operation was carried out to mark the fourth anniversary of the movement’s founding and targeted a storage facility holding unmanned aerial vehicles intended for Russian forces.

Among the equipment destroyed were hexacopter drones, which Russian troops use for a range of battlefield and logistics tasks, the movement said.

ATESH said the drones are used to deliver ammunition, food, and medical supplies to frontline positions, as well as to conduct strikes by dropping explosive munitions.

The hexacopters can also be used for remote mining operations, allowing Russian forces to deploy anti-personnel and anti-tank mines from the air, according to the movement.

The reported operation comes amid a series of Ukrainian strikes targeting Russia’s drone infrastructure both in occupied Ukrainian territories and inside Russia.

Ukraine’s General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces struck a drone storage facility operated by Russia’s Rubicon unmanned systems unit, along with several UAV command posts and logistics sites, on September 22 and overnight into September 23.

The strikes targeted Russian drone command posts near Novoselivka Persha and Dachne in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region, while a separate attack hit a UAV warehouse belonging to the Rubicon unit near Volnovakha.

Days earlier, Ukrainian forces also targeted a Russian facility used to store and launch attack drones in the Oryol region. The September 22 strike damaged five launch systems and several storage facilities, according to the General Staff.
