Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,520 Troops, 37 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,520 troops and 37 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on October 2.
According to the latest Ukrainian military estimate, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,537,390.

Russian forces also lost seven armored combat vehicles, bringing the cumulative total to 25,471. No additional tank losses were recorded, leaving the overall figure at 12,388.
Another 37 artillery systems were added to the tally, raising Russia’s estimated cumulative losses to 50,592. Ukraine also reported the loss of one multiple-launch rocket system, bringing that total to 2,175.
Air defense losses remained unchanged at 1,683 systems, while estimated aviation losses stayed at 443 aircraft and 356 helicopters.
The General Staff also recorded seven unmanned ground systems lost over the past day, raising the cumulative total in that category to 2,810.

Russia’s estimated cruise missile losses remained at 5,126, while naval losses stayed unchanged at 35 ships and boats and two submarines.
Another 422 vehicles and fuel tankers were recorded as lost, bringing the cumulative figure to 156,309. Ukraine also reported six additional pieces of special equipment, raising that total to 4,780.
Fighting remained intense across the front, with Ukrainian forces recording 207 combat engagements over the latest reporting period.
Earlier, reports emerged that Russian forces suffered 46,230 personnel losses in Ukraine in September, marking their highest monthly total recorded in 2026.
The September figure surpassed the previous monthly highs recorded during the summer, when Russian personnel losses reached 42,860 in July and 42,020 in August.
