Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,600 Troops, 5 Tanks and 50 Artillery Systems

Russia lost an estimated 1,600 troops, five tanks and 50 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on August 31.
According to the latest Ukrainian military figures, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,488,200.

Russian forces also lost seven armored combat vehicles over the latest reporting period, bringing estimated cumulative losses to 12,316 tanks and 25,255 armored combat vehicles.
Russia’s artillery losses rose to 48,883 systems after another 50 were recorded over the past day. Ukraine also reported the loss of two Russian multiple-launch rocket systems and three air defense systems, bringing their respective totals to 2,079 and 1,597.
Estimated Russian aviation losses remain at 440 aircraft and 354 helicopters.
The General Staff also recorded seven unmanned ground systems lost over the past day, raising Russia’s cumulative losses in that category to 2,442.

Another 2,055 operational-tactical UAVs were recorded as lost during the latest 24-hour period, bringing the total to 490,402.
Russia’s other estimated losses stand at 5,060 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 141,920 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,621 pieces of special equipment.
Over the past day alone, Russian forces lost another 467 vehicles and fuel tankers and seven pieces of special equipment, according to the General Staff.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed 225 times across the front over the previous day.
Earlier, reports emerged that in July, verified Russian losses—killed and wounded—amounted to 43,000 personnel, compared with 37,000 newly recruited troops. That is a difference of 6,000 in a single month.
