Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,630 Troops, 3 Tanks, and 55 Artillery Systems in One Day

Ukraine’s General Staff reported that Russian forces lost approximately 1,630 personnel, 55 artillery systems, and three tanks over the previous 24 hours as of August 28.

According to Ukrainian military estimates, Russia’s cumulative personnel losses since launching its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have risen to around 1,483,780.

Ukraine also estimates that Russia has lost 12,307 tanks, including three in the latest reporting period, along with 25,237 armored combat vehicles and 48,749 artillery systems.

Other reported losses include 2,067 multiple-launch rocket systems, 1,593 air defense systems, 440 aircraft, and 354 helicopters.

The General Staff further estimates that Russia has lost 2,420 unmanned ground systems and 485,024 operational-tactical UAVs, including 16 and 1,657, respectively, over the past day.

Ukraine puts Russia’s cumulative losses in other categories at 5,060 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 140,741 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,604 pieces of special equipment.

Meanwhile, the General Staff recorded 250 combat engagements between Ukrainian and Russian forces across the front during the previous 24 hours.

At the same time, Ukrainian forces continued targeting Russian military infrastructure behind the front. Ukrainian drones struck a Russian Nebo-U radar station at the Millerovo military airfield in Russia’s Rostov region, the 429th Achilles Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade reported on August 27.
