The strikes began on the evening of May 13 and continued through the night of May 14. Russian forces used various types of drones along with cruise and ballistic missiles to target Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine. The attacks resulted in multiple deaths and injuries.
Russian strikes caused widespread damage across several districts of Kyiv. In the Obolonskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, debris struck a business center, a parking structure, and a residential building where a fire broke out. An unfinished high-rise and a non-residential building were also hit.
The Darnytskyi district sustained significant damage, with fires reported at kiosks and a gas station alongside a partial structural collapse in a residential building.
In the Dniprovskyi district, the attack damaged a private house and a five-story building, while fires destroyed several garages and vehicles.

I’ve directed for UK deliveries of air defence and counter-drone systems to be accelerated as fast as possible.
We stand with Ukraine in the face of Putin’s aggression. Our thoughts are with Ukrainian families.
"Shocking Russian drone attacks across Ukraine over the last 24 hours. I have directed that the delivery of UK air defense and anti-drone capabilities be accelerated to the maximum extent possible," Healey stated.
He emphasized that the United Kingdom remains committed to supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression. "We stand with Ukraine in the face of Putin’s aggression. Our thoughts are with Ukrainian families," the Defense Secretary added.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the combined strike followed a day of heavy drone activity. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 652 drones and 41 missiles. Despite these efforts, 15 missiles and 23 drones hit 24 different locations, and debris from intercepted drones fell in 18 locations.
In Kyiv, at least 16 deaths and more than 40 injuries were confirmed. In the Darnytskyi district, a residential building was significantly damaged. As of early afternoon on May 14, at least 20 people remained missing. In the Kyiv region, destruction was recorded across five separate districts.
