Norway Pledges $190M for Ukraine’s Long-Range Ammo Needs, F-16 Support and Drone Deal

Norway will allocate $190 million to purchase extended-range ammunition for Ukraine, likely 155mm artillery shells, to meet urgent frontline needs, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said on June 18.
Fedorov announced the decision following a meeting with Norwegian Defense Minister Tore Sandvik.
We bring you stories from the ground. Your support keeps our team in the field.
In addition to the ammunition funding, Norway will help finance maintenance for Ukraine’s F-16 fighter fleet and launch a joint drone production project with Ukrainian companies, referred to as the Drone Deal.
Sat down with @toreosa to advance crucial military aid. Norway committed $190 mln for extended-range ammunition based on frontline requests and will fund F-16 fleet maintenance. Deeply grateful for this vital support.

During the bilateral talks, Ukrainian and Norwegian officials also discussed prospects for creating a joint European anti-ballistic defense project.
The new support package comes as Ukraine continues to expand its Western-supplied fighter aircraft fleet and increase domestic drone production amid Russia’s ongoing war of aggression.

In addition, Belgium confirmed it would transfer seven F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of 2026 as part of military assistance.
Earlier, reports emerged that Ukraine was preparing to equip its F-16 fighter jets with German-made IRIS-T short-range air-to-air missiles.
