Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said Russia’s average monthly losses in killed and wounded stand at around 32,000 troops.

Since the beginning of the year, Russian forces have failed to achieve their objectives despite holding an almost twofold advantage in personnel and equipment, Syrskyi said.

He added that while Russia had previously conducted active offensive operations across 13 operational directions, that number has now fallen to no more than six or seven.

Previously, reports emerged that Russian commanders were sending soldiers on high-risk flag-planting missions to produce battlefield photo reports from areas not fully under Moscow’s control.

The report described the practice as “flag planting,” in which small Russian assault groups infiltrate contested settlements, raise a Russian flag, and record footage for propaganda or command reporting.
