Operators of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces hit a Russian target every 52 seconds in June and killed or wounded one Russian soldier roughly every four minutes, according to Major Robert Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, on July 2.

Brovdi said Ukrainian drone operators destroyed or damaged an average of 1,671 Russian targets per day in June, while also eliminating or wounding 329 Russian troops daily.

In total, Ukraine’s drone forces struck 50,147 military targets in Russia’s tactical and operational depth during the month.

The reported figure includes 9,866 Russian personnel hit, including 4,720 killed and 5,146 wounded. Ukrainian drone operators also struck 32 air defense elements, 9,268 enemy fixed-wing UAVs, 952 Shaheds and Gerbera-type drones, 449 artillery systems, 24 multiple launch rocket systems, and 121 armored vehicles.

The June tally also included 5,023 logistics vehicles, 669 warehouses and depots, nine naval assets, 1,698 drone pilot launch points, 2,728 drone and communications antennas, 537 pieces of network equipment and cameras, 111 ground robotic systems, 1,572 enemy copters, and 15,219 shelters and dugouts.

According to recent reports, Russia has lost the military initiative in Ukraine, while the cost of Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s war continues to rise sharply.

Russia’s offensive has slowed to a crawl. Near Kostiantynivka, Russian forces are advancing at an average of about 50 meters per day. Around Pokrovsk, the pace is roughly 70 meters per day. Near Sloviansk, it is about 90 meters per day.

The report describes this as one of the slowest offensives in modern military history over the past century, with rates comparable to the Battle of the Somme during World War I.

Russia has lost more than 1,000 troops every day from June 1 to June 22, 2026, marking the first such streak since March 2025.

On almost every day of June, Ukrainian forces reported Russian personnel losses ranging from 1,130 to 1,550 troops. Only three days in the period showed losses slightly above 1,100.
