Russian Armor Appears Less Often as Ukrainian Drones Keep Striking in Kharkiv

Ukrainian forces reported destroying a Russian tank, an artillery piece, and multiple transport vehicles in the northern Kharkiv region, according to a statement published online by Ukraine’s 16th Army Corps on October 5.
The strikes were carried out by drone operators from the Hart border brigade in the South Slobozhanskyi direction, where the unit reported that Russian armored vehicles have been appearing less frequently.

The strikes come as Ukraine reports exceptionally high Russian losses across the front. According to Ukraine’s General Staff, Russia lost an estimated 46,230 troops killed or wounded in September, while Ukrainian forces also regained territory in the Donetsk region and continued to slow Russian advances.
“The sky here is under the watchful control of UAV operators from the Hart border brigade,” the 16th Army Corps stated.
According to the unit, Russian forces nevertheless continued attempting to move heavy equipment and vehicles used to supply their positions.
“The result of another such attempt was a struck tank, a gun, and several vehicles that the enemy used to support its units,” the statement noted.

Hart personnel continue operating in northern Kharkiv region alongside other Ukrainian Defense Forces units, targeting Russian equipment and attempting to reduce the combat capabilities of attacking forces.
“For Russian equipment, appearing in Hart’s sights is far from a promising prospect,” the 16th Army Corps stated.
Days earlier, Ukrainian FPV operators from the 423rd Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment destroyed a Russian T-54 tank that had reportedly been moved nearly 9,000 kilometers from storage facilities in Russia’s Far East. The Soviet-era vehicle had been fitted with additional protective structures but was still struck deep behind Russian lines.
