Russian Attack Damages EKO Market Logistics Warehouse in Kyiv Region

A logistics warehouse belonging to the Ukrainian supermarket chain EKO Market was damaged during a Russian strike in the Kyiv region, the company reported on September 20.

The retailer confirmed that all employees on site remained safe and uninjured during the attack.

It was previously estimated that Russian strikes have destroyed 90% of Ukraine’s retail food logistics network, targeting supermarket warehouses, processing plants, and delivery hubs. The destruction of supply chains has led to localized shortages, purchase limits on staple items at major retail chains, and menu reductions at restaurant networks nationwide.

In a statement released on social media, the company noted that its stores continue normal operations, with supply chains being managed to maintain inventory across its supermarket network.

“Our team is safe. All employees are alive and unharmed,” EKO Market stated. “EKO Market stores continue to operate. We are ensuring supplies and doing everything necessary, so our guests can purchase their usual products in our stores.”

The company thanked emergency responders, security forces, and partners assisting on site as it operates under emergency protocols to prevent supply disruptions.

The damage to the EKO Market logistics facility is a part of a wider Russian campaign targeting civilian distribution infrastructure across Ukraine. Previous Russian overnight attacks damaged or destroyed major distribution hubs serving top Ukrainian supermarket, electronics, toy, home-improvement, and confectionery brands.

This includes Fora, Silpo, Comfy, Budynok Ihrashok, Epicentr, Aurora, and Roshen. While staff managed to reach air raid shelters safely and physical stores maintained operations, the widespread destruction forced retailers to reroute supply chains and brace for delivery delays across the country.
