Colonel Andrei Vladimirovich Krestyansky served as a senior instructor and inspector at the Inspection of the Training Center for Command Personnel of Russian Defense Ministry formations, KIU reported.
According to Militarnyi, his death was also confirmed by authorities in the Marks municipal district of Russia’s Saratov region. An official notice stated that Krestyansky had participated in Russia’s war against Ukraine and was killed while performing military duties.
KIU noted that neither the circumstances nor the exact date of Krestyansky’s death are currently known. His funeral is scheduled for September 9, and further details may emerge afterward.

Researchers believe he may have been killed in a Ukrainian missile strike on a command post in Russian-occupied Donetsk on August 26, although this has not been confirmed.
Krestyansky’s reported death follows the loss of another senior Russian officer in the Donetsk region earlier this year. Lt. Col. Oleg Rudomyotov, commander of Russia’s “Yugra” battalion, was killed in a Ukrainian drone strike.
Prior to his deployment in Russia’s war against Ukraine, Rudomyotov reportedly participated in counterterrorism operations in the North Caucasus. He was mobilized from Seversk in Russia’s Tomsk region in October 2022.
