Russian Drone Hits Passenger Train After Emergency Evacuation in Dnipropetrovsk Region

A Russian drone struck a passenger train in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, hitting the locomotive after the crew and passengers had already left the cars, according to, Ukrzaliznytsia on July 24.
The operator reported the attack in a post on its official Telegram channel, noting that a railway monitoring group had warned the train crew in time about a potential threat.

In a separate post on its official Telegram channel, Ukraine's Air Force Command warned of jet-powered drones departing the Dnipropetrovsk region on a course toward the Kirovohrad region.
Railway workers and passengers evacuated the cars before the impact, Ukrzaliznytsia stated. The unmanned aerial vehicle then struck the locomotive.
The operator added that its staff was working to move passengers onward along the safest possible route so they could reach their stations with minimal delay. Ukrzaliznytsia reported no injuries among passengers or railway personnel.
Ukraine's passenger rail network has come under repeated drone attack in recent weeks.
On July 18, Russian forces carried out a double strike on a locomotive and passenger cars in the Zaporizhzhia region, damaging the train.
All passengers and railway personnel were moved to safety before the attack, and services in the region continued on a dispatcher-controlled schedule under enhanced monitoring.
