The company’s monitoring group spotted the drone in the air and evacuated people from the area immediately.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba confirmed that the drone hit an empty train. The impact shattered 20 windows, as reported by station manager Oleksandr Kratasiuk.
The injured man was struck by flying gravel and did not require hospitalization. An eyewitness named Maksym saw the drone flying toward a local market and warned people to run. He described a loud explosion that knocked over an elderly man who was running behind him.
Local authorities reported that the attack caused a fire at a critical transport infrastructure site. Emergency services, including a specialized fire train from Ukrzaliznytsia, extinguished the fire which covered an area of 70 square meters. Pyrotechnic and chemical units also worked at the scene to ensure safety.

Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych stated that no damage to residential buildings has been found. The attack occurred during an air raid alert issued by the Ukrainian Air Force for the region.
Earlier, a Russian drone attack in the Kharkiv region targeted a civilian passenger train traveling the Barvinkove–Lviv–Chop route, claiming the lives of five people.
Three Shahed-type drones struck the service, hitting both the locomotive and a passenger car, which quickly caught fire while more than 150 passengers were on board.
Although the train crew successfully evacuated hundreds of people and pulled the wounded from the burning carriage, the incident followed a broader pattern of deliberate strikes against Ukraine’s railway infrastructure.
