The same day, Russian forces also launched a massive strike on critical and civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region. Preliminary reports indicate that four people were injured. Throughout the night, firefighters worked to extinguish fires caused by the strikes, including a large blaze on a civilian vessel, according to State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

“As a result of a massive enemy attack on Odesa, energy infrastructure facilities have been left without power. Most of the city is without heat and water supply. As a result of the enemy attack, all of the city’s traction substations are without power, and tram and trolleybus services have been temporarily suspended,” Head of the Odesa City Military Administration Serhyi Lysak wrote in a post on Telegram.

Russia also targeted southern Mykolaiv region of Ukraine.

“As a result of a massive attack on the region, there are casualties in Mykolaiv. All services are operational. During the night, settlements in the Bashtansky and Mykolaiv districts, critical infrastructure, and electric transport in the city of Mykolaiv were left without power. We are switching all critical infrastructure facilities to generators,” Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim wrote in a post on Telegram.

“As of now, five people are known to have been injured in Mykolaiv as a result of a massive attack on the region. Three people have been hospitalized: a 43-year-old man, a 48-year-old woman, and a 16-year-old girl. All are in moderate condition. Two people have received outpatient medical care,” he continued.

Additionally, fires broke out at energy infrastructure facilities and textile storage buildings. Residential houses, an administrative building, and civilian and firefighting vehicles were damaged. Over 100 firefighters from the State Emergency Service were deployed to address the aftermath, Ukrainian State Emergency Service reported.

Previously, in Odesa, a ship that reportedly belongs to a Turkish company, caught fire after a series of Russian strikes during the air raid alert.

Oleksii Kuleba, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, clarified that Russia had carried out a missile strike on civilian port infrastructure in the Odesa region. According to him, Russia used drones and ballistic missiles to attack two ports.

Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Türkiye, Naryman Dzhelialov, stated on X that “Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking in Turkmenistan, urges Putin to stop strikes on energy facilities and ports as a step toward de-escalation—meanwhile, a Russian Iskander missile hits the Turkish ferry CENK T in the port of Odesa.”
