A Russian drone strike ignited a large fire at food-storage warehouses on the outskirts of Dnipro on August 3, the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration reported.

Oleksandr Hanzha, an official with the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed that the blaze broke out after an enemy drone attack struck facilities holding food products in a suburb of the city.

Earlier, as air-raid sirens sounded over Dnipro, Hanzha attributed a series of explosions across the city to Ukrainian air defenses. "The explosions heard by Dnipro residents are the work of air defense forces," he wrote, urging people to stay in safe places until the all-clear.

Footage circulating on Telegram appeared to show a massive fire burning on the outskirts of Dnipro after a reported Russian drone strike.

The video, shared by volunteer Tymofii Kucher, who provides local emergency updates in the region, showed large flames and thick smoke rising above the area at night.

Information on casualties was still being clarified as emergency crews worked at the scene.

The targeting of food-storage sites in Dnipro has been a recurring feature of Russian strikes on the city. In early June, a missile strike destroyed a warehouse belonging to the ATB retail chain, injuring about a dozen people and sending several to the hospital.
