Russian Drones Target Kyiv Gas Stations Again as Morning Attack Injures Eight

Russian drones struck two gas stations in Kyiv during a morning attack on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on September 15.

In the Darnytskyi district, a drone hit a gas station, prompting emergency services to respond to the scene. One person injured in the strike was hospitalized in serious condition, according to Klitschko.

Another drone struck a gas station in the Holosiivskyi district, causing heavy smoke in the area.

As a hromadske correspondent reported, Russian forces struck the gas station with a jet-powered Shahed drone, hitting the building directly above the checkout area and damaging the roof.

Video footage circulating online appears to show that both gas stations struck in the attack were operated by Ukrnafta.

Elsewhere in the capital, a drone reportedly struck warehouse facilities in the Obolonskyi district.

Overall, eight people have been injured in Russian strikes on Kyiv since the start of the day, as reported by the State Emergency service. Two of the injured are in serious condition, Klitschko added.

Emergency services are responding to the consequences of the strikes across Kyiv.

The latest strikes point to a growing pattern of Russian attacks targeting gas stations in Kyiv. Just four days earlier, on September 11, Russian drones struck gas stations in the capital’s Obolonskyi and Dniprovskyi districts, injuring at least two people.

Kyiv Mayor reported strikes on gas stations in both districts, including a second hit on a gas station in Obolonskyi. Footage circulating online indicated that one of the facilities hit was operated by Ukrnafta.
