Russian forces are evacuating some units from the Kinburn Spit after Ukrainian strikes severely disrupted logistics and supply lines in the area, according to statements by the commander of Ukraine’s Operational Tactical Group “Odesa,” Col. Denys Nosikov on June 22.

Speaking to Ukrainian broadcaster Channel 24, Nosikov said Ukrainian forces have intensified attacks on Russian military assets being transferred to the Kinburn Spit, using medium-range drones to target supply routes and support infrastructure.

According to Nosikov, coordinated operations by Ukrainian units and the Southern grouping of forces have significantly degraded Russia’s ability to sustain its presence on the narrow peninsula.

“The supply of ammunition, food, and fuel has effectively stopped. A soldier cannot fight without food and fresh water. According to our intelligence, they are now conducting an evacuation,” Nosikov said.

The Kinburn Spit, located between the Dnipro-Buh estuary and the Black Sea, remains one of the last Russian-held positions on the western side of the occupied Kherson region. Control of the area allows Russia to monitor maritime approaches to Mykolaiv and Odesa and launch reconnaissance and drone operations.

Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces commander, Maj. Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, has previously stated that Ukraine aims to further isolate occupied Crimea by disrupting key military supply routes. Ukrainian officials have also linked recent pressure on Russian logistics networks in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions to an expanding drone campaign against military transportation and fuel infrastructure.
