Russian UAZ Goes Full GTA Trying to Escape Ukrainian Drone—Then Flips Into a Ditch

A Russian military UAZ trying to escape a Ukrainian drone at high speed crashed off the Melitopol–Tokmak highway and overturned in a ditch—only for the pursuing UAV to catch up and strike the vehicle anyway.

Ukraine’s 1st Separate Assault Regiment released footage of the pursuit, saying operators from its 1st Unmanned Systems Battalion detected the Russian vehicle moving along the highway.

An F-Captain middle-strike drone was then sent after it. Video from the drone shows the UAZ accelerating along the road as its driver attempts to put distance between the vehicle and the approaching UAV.

During the chase, the driver appears to lose control. The UAZ leaves the roadway, rolls over and comes to rest in a roadside ditch.

The crash did not end the engagement. The F-Captain continued toward the overturned vehicle and struck the target, according to the regiment.

“Even a leap of faith into the ditch won’t save you,” the 1st Assault Regiment said, commenting on the footage.

The episode was recorded on the Melitopol–Tokmak route in Russian-occupied southern Ukraine, where Ukrainian drone units regularly target military vehicles and logistics moving behind the front.

Earlier, Ukraine recorded the highest reported daily casualty total of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion, with 2,090 soldiers killed or wounded over a 24-hour period.
