Russia's Attacks on Passenger Trains Continue, This Time on Odesa–Dnipro Route

Russian forces carried out an overnight strike near an Odesa–Dnipro passenger train, though passengers were evacuated before the attack.

According to preliminary information, the train was in the area when the Russian strike occurred, but railway personnel managed to evacuate passengers to safety in advance.

No information on casualties or the extent of damage was immediately available.

The latest attack is part of a growing pattern of Russian strikes targeting Ukrainian passenger trains and railway infrastructure. Just a day earlier, Russian forces hit a Kyiv–Mykolaiv passenger train. No casualties were reported, as passengers and railway staff were evacuated to safety before the attack, according to Ukrzaliznytsia.

Following the strike, the railway operator worked with the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration to organize buses for the evacuated passengers so they could continue their journey.

Another similar attack occurred on September 13, when a Russian drone struck railway infrastructure near the Yahodyn–Dorohusk international border crossing, hitting the locomotive of a Kyiv–Warsaw passenger train.
