Ukraine Blows Up Russian Artillery Ammo Depot at Former Poultry Farm in Occupied Luhansk

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) destroyed a Russian field artillery ammunition depot in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region overnight on September 7, the SOF reported.

The SOF also released footage of the strike, showing the targeted facility and subsequent explosions at the site.

The depot was located on the grounds of a former poultry farm in the settlement of Teple and was used to supply units of Russia’s 8th Combined Arms Army.

According to the SOF, the operation to destroy the facility was carried out by its Middle Strike units.

The operation comes amid continued Ukrainian strikes on Russian military equipment and logistics behind the front line. In another recent attack, Ukraine’s 45th Artillery Brigade of the 11th Army Corps destroyed a Russian 9A316 transporter erector launcher and radar (TELAR) from a Buk air defense system using an M142 HIMARS rocket system.

Footage released by the brigade shows the Russian crew launching two interceptor missiles in an attempt to engage the incoming rockets. The target had been detected by reconnaissance personnel from a neighboring unit of Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps, who relayed its coordinates to the strike team.

Shortly after the attempted interception, a precision rocket struck the Russian system, triggering a secondary explosion that destroyed the vehicle.

Ukrainian forces have also continued targeting Russian artillery. On August 13, Ukraine’s 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade reported that its drone operators had destroyed two Russian 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzers in the Vovchansk direction.
