Ukraine Goes After Russia’s Air Defense and Drone Network, Hitting Pantsir-S2 and UAV Sites

Ukrainian forces struck a Russian Pantsir-S2 air defense system, drone command and launch sites, ammunition depots, and other military facilities during operations on September 27 and overnight into September 28, Ukraine’s General Staff reported.
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian Defense Forces targeted a Pantsir-S2 surface-to-air missile and gun system near Seltso in Russia’s Bryansk region.

In the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian drone command post and a temporary deployment site for a UAV unit near Vynohradivka.
A facility used by Russian forces to store, prepare, and launch attack drones was also hit in temporarily occupied Donetsk, the General Staff said.
The strikes additionally targeted several Russian logistics and support facilities across the temporarily occupied Donetsk region. A repair unit was hit in Mariupol, while ammunition depots were targeted in Makiivka and Ustynivka.
Ukrainian forces also struck a Russian logistics depot in Nikolske, according to the General Staff.
The latest strikes came alongside separate Ukrainian operations targeting Russian radar, communications, aviation, and maritime assets. Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) reported on September 28 that its “Prymary” special unit struck multiple Russian military targets as part of Ukraine’s response to continued Russian attacks.
Among the targets were a railway bridge spanning the North Crimean Canal, as well as nine communications towers and systems supporting electronic warfare, electronic intelligence, radar operations, and MESH relay networks.
