Ukraine Showcases Armed Drone Carrying Assault Rifle at Eurosatory 2026

A Ukrainian defense technology company presented a new unmanned aerial platform capable of carrying either a rifle-based weapon system or mortar munitions during the Eurosatory defense exhibition in Paris.

According to Militarnyi on June 16, the platform, known as Drone Squad Fury and developed by OM Defense Systems, was showcased as a modular system designed to support multiple payload configurations.
Company representatives told Militarnyi that the drone can be equipped with a suspended rifle system or carry mortar ammunition weighing up to 15 kilograms. The platform can also be fitted with different communication systems, including Starlink terminals as well as analog and digital radio equipment.

According to Militarnyi, OM Defense Systems described the displayed configuration as a demonstration of the drone’s adaptability rather than a finalized combat variant.
“This is a version of the Drone Squad Fury drone on which we demonstrate that this unmanned system can be used as a platform for various means,” a company representative told Militarnyi at the exhibition.
The company said the rifle-equipped version was developed at the request of Ukrainian special services. However, testing reportedly showed that the concept was less effective than conventional drone-based munition drops.

“We made it, handed it over to them, they tested it, but then switched to the classic dropping of munitions. Here we wanted more to show that we can implement practically any solution on this drone,” the representative said, according to Militarnyi.
Eurosatory, one of the world’s largest defense exhibitions, has become a key venue for Ukrainian defense manufacturers to present new technologies developed during Russia’s full-scale invasion and to seek international partnerships and export opportunities.
Earlier, Ukraine unveiled the Sea Trident heavy autonomous underwater drone at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris. Developed by Global Mark, the system is designed for long-range maritime missions, can carry payloads of up to 1,000 kilograms, and has a reported range of 2,000 nautical miles. The platform is intended for strike operations, logistics missions, cargo delivery, and counter-underwater drone tasks.
