Ukrainian drone operators from the Signum Battalion destroyed a Russian logistics convoy, knocking out three Ural military trucks and two fuel tankers while sending the convoy’s mobile fire teams scrambling for cover, the 59th Assault Brigade of Unmanned Systems reported on October 27.

After repeated Ukrainian middle-strike attacks, Russian forces have increasingly tried to disperse their logistics and avoid moving large groups of vehicles together.

This time, however, Russian troops reportedly took the risk of moving several vehicles as a convoy, protected by pickup trucks carrying mobile fire teams.

Once Signum’s FPV drones began catching up with the vehicles one after another, that protection quickly fell apart.

Footage released by the unit shows Russian troops jumping from the pickups and scattering in different directions as the drones approached, effectively leaving the logistics vehicles exposed.

The strikes hit three Ural trucks carrying ammunition and other military supplies. Signum operators then targeted two fuel tankers traveling with the convoy.

Some of the first footage showing the damaged and burning vehicles was actually published by Russian troops themselves and circulated online before it became clear which Ukrainian unit had carried out the attack.

“The occupiers supposedly ‘don’t move in vehicle convoys’ anymore. But we found one—and stopped it!” Signum said.

Previously, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces carried out a series of drone strikes against Russian military supply trucks on the R-280 highway, which Russia uses to supply its troops in the temporarily occupied south of Ukraine.
