Ukraine Unveils Next-Gen FPV Drones That Strike 25 Km Through Jamming

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has tested a new generation of domestically developed FPV strike drones capable of operating at distances of up to 25 kilometers and maintaining effectiveness under electronic warfare interference.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on April 28, the tests were conducted jointly with the Brave1 defense tech cluster and involved developments from eight Ukrainian manufacturers. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that the priority is to rapidly scale successful systems and deliver them to frontline units.
“Our task is to scale these technologies in the military as quickly as possible and ensure accelerated delivery so that units receive effective tools immediately after results are confirmed,” Fedorov said.

During the trials, several drone systems successfully completed missions in conditions designed to replicate real combat environments. According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the tested FPV platforms demonstrated the ability to strike targets at ranges of up to 25 km while operating under various types of electronic warfare.
The testing framework is part of a broader effort to accelerate the deployment cycle for unmanned systems. According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the codification process has been simplified to shorten the time between development and field use.
The ministry also adjusted its procurement model, allocating 80% of resources to solutions already proven on the battlefield and 20% to emerging technologies.

Regular joint testing with Brave1 has been introduced, with separate evaluation methodologies developed for each class of unmanned systems. According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, manufacturers without existing government contracts are also being included in the testing process.
Officials state that once a drone demonstrates effectiveness under combat-like conditions, it is immediately moved into contracting and scaled for operational use.
The initiative reflects Ukraine’s broader focus on maintaining a technological advantage in drone warfare, where rapid adaptation to battlefield conditions and electronic countermeasures has become a key factor in operational effectiveness.
Earlier, Ukrainian defense-tech company General Chereshnya unveiled the “Khmarynka” fixed-wing strike drone, designed as a low-cost, mass-produced system for targeting Russian logistics. The drone can carry a 7 kg payload, operate at ranges up to 50 km, and remain airborne for up to 60 minutes.
