According to footage released by Ukraine’s 1st Separate Unmanned Systems Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces on May 17, Ukrainian strike drones targeted a strategic protected communications node used by Russia’s Black Sea Fleet near the settlement of Myrne in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The published video showed multiple drones striking antenna towers, radio equipment, and surrounding infrastructure.

The footage suggests the drones launched unguided rockets shortly before impact, combining stand-off attacks with the drone’s primary warhead. According to the published video, the FP-½ drones were fitted with launch rails carrying multiple aviation rockets.

The attack also appeared to reveal a modified targeting interface for the drones. Video released by the unit showed an updated aiming display with a targeting reticle and range scale, likely intended to improve rocket delivery accuracy.

The FP-1 and FP-2 are long-range strike drones developed by the Ukrainian company Fire Point. Ukraine has increasingly expanded the capabilities of its unmanned systems throughout the war, including experiments with naval drones, interceptor drones, and long-range strike UAVs targeting military infrastructure deep inside Russian-controlled territory.

Earlier the same night, Ukrainian long-range drones carried out one of the largest strikes of the war against targets deep inside Russia, reportedly hitting facilities linked to Russia’s defense industry, fuel infrastructure, and microelectronics sector, including sites in the Moscow region.
