We bring you stories from the ground. Your support keeps our team in the field.
Sandu strongly condemned the strike and confirmed that, in response to this dangerous violation, Chisinau has declared an employee of the Russian embassy persona non grata.

We condemn this latest dangerous act. In response, we have declared a Russian embassy staff member persona non grata.
The Foreign Ministry of Moldova also condemned the breach of the country's airspace and the incident in the village of Cistelnica, Telenești district, where a drone landed 100 meters from a residential house.
Foreign ministry officials emphasized that the drone was loaded with explosives.

The ministry noted that "this incident is a serious violation of the sovereignty and security of the Republic of Moldova and poses a direct threat to the safety of its citizens. Such actions are unacceptable and once again demonstrate the risks associated with the aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine."
Previously, on September 30, a Russian Geran-4 drone equipped with a turbojet engine entered Moldovan airspace before crashing into trees and exploding near a road in the Orhei district. Investigators recovered drone fragments, including engine components and parts marked “Geran-4,” while authorities temporarily restricted airspace during the incident.
