Poland to Host First Coalition of the Willing Military Exercises This Autumn

The first military exercises of the “Coalition of the Willing ” will hold its first military exercises this autumn in Poland, featuring joint maneuvers by Polish, British, and French armed forces.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the upcoming drills on July 14 during his visit to Paris. This trip followed a summit of nations committed to supporting Ukraine against Russia’s full-scale invasion, as reported by Deutsche Welle.

According to Tusk, Poland will act as both the host nation and an active participant in the maneuvers, alongside military units from the United Kingdom and France.
The primary goal of these exercises is to prepare the group of supportive nations to provide "concrete security guarantees for Ukraine, as well as for the entire region" once a peace agreement or a ceasefire is reached.
At the same time, the Polish Prime Minister stated that he does not expect a quick resolution to the situation in Ukraine. He explained that Russia, under Vladimir Putin, is highly likely to prolong the situation until at least winter.

"Given the tough stance of Russia and Putin, it is currently unlikely that a ceasefire or a peace agreement will be achieved in the near future," Tusk told reporters, adding that an escalation of Russian attacks is a more realistic expectation.
On July 14, Bulgaria officially withdrew from the “Coalition of the Willing” supporting Ukraine’s defense, further distancing the Balkan nation from its European Union partners.
The decision was announced by the country’s Prime Minister Rumen Radev, who is an outspoken critic of Western military assistance to Ukraine. He confirmed that Bulgaria had not sent a representative to the coalition’s latest defense coordination meeting in Paris.
Speaking to reporters, Radev justified the move by arguing that continuing to supply weapons and financial support only served to prolong the war. He emphasized that Bulgaria would no longer participate in a coalition that insisted on continuing financial and military aid to Ukraine. He stated that the solution to the war lay in a strong diplomatic mission to end the escalation rather than prolonging it by military means.
