Ukraine’s Defense Ministry has not confirmed that Starlink speed restrictions have been removed, despite US President Donald Trump saying SpaceX had already lifted the limits affecting Starshield terminals in Ukraine, ministry sources told UNITED24 Media on October 23.

Ukrainian specialists are continuing to monitor both the civilian Starlink network and its military-focused Starshield service.

As of the morning of October 23, tests were still recording cases in which connectivity disappeared once terminals reached speeds of around 161 kilometers per hour—roughly 100 mph.

That leaves uncertainty over whether the restrictions have been fully removed, partially relaxed, or are still affecting some terminals and configurations.

The findings come a day after Trump said SpaceX had already eliminated the speed restriction for Starshield terminals operating in Ukraine.

For now, however, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry says it has no confirmation from its own monitoring that the limitation has disappeared.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Starlink and Starshield services used by Ukrainian forces remain restricted, although US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has promised to work to resolve the issue.

The President also confirmed that the US had restored intelligence sharing with Ukraine, including information about Russian ballistic missile launches.
