Zelenskyy Announces €40 Billion Investment Strategy for Carpathian Eight

During the Carpathian Summit on September 18, 2026, participating countries unveiled a joint investment portfolio containing 95 projects valued at approximately €40 billion ($44 billion).

Organizers have already prepared 50 deals totaling more than €1 billion ($1.1 billion) for immediate signature. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered these figures during his official address at the event.

The regional grouping, known as the "Carpathian Eight" (C8), brings together eight Central European nations connected by the Carpathian Mountains—Ukraine, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Serbia.

The summit brought together high-level government officials, regional leaders, and representatives from each participating state alongside European Union delegates.

"Our eight countries present a joint investment portfolio of 95 projects worth about 40 billion euros. And this is a joint regional offer for investors. For the first time, the Carpathian macro-region presents itself as a single market with a single investment portfolio," Zelenskyy stated.

He added that more than 50 agreements valued at over €1 billion ($1.1 billion) were prepared for signing on the day of the announcement, noting that energy projects account for half of this portfolio.
