Beijing Says It Has “No Knowledge” of Russia Using Chinese Satellites for Strikes on Ukraine

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it is unaware of any cases in which the Chinese side provided Russia with satellite intelligence data for missile strikes on Ukraine, adding that Beijing maintains an “objective and fair” position on the war in Ukraine.
This was stated in a written response from the Office of the Spokesperson of China’s Foreign Ministry to an inquiry by Ukrinform’s correspondent in Beijing.
“We are not aware of the situation you mentioned,” the response reads, referring to a request for comment on a statement by a representative of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, who said there was evidence that China had supplied Russia with satellite imagery to support strikes deep inside Ukrainian territory.

At the same time, the ministry reiterated Beijing’s “fair and objective” stance on the war—a position that, according to Chinese diplomats, is supported by many countries around the world. This stance, as previously emphasized by China, centers on calls for de-escalation and peace talks, while avoiding direct involvement in promoting such initiatives.
“China’s position on the Ukraine crisis has always been open, fair, objective, and impartial—and is widely recognized by the international community,” the statement reads.
Notably, the Chinese Foreign Ministry did not explicitly deny the allegations or express outrage over what it might consider “false accusations.”
Previous reports indicated that during Russia’s large-scale missile and drone strike on October 5, at least three Chinese reconnaissance satellites from the Yaogan series flew over western Ukraine—the area that sustained the heaviest attacks.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian air defense units are using a Chinese-made commercial radar system together with FPV interceptors to track and destroy Ukrainian drones.
