Ukraine reported overnight that a Neptune coastal cruise missile struck the Elektrodetal factory in Karachev, Bryansk region—a facility Kyiv says supplies connectors and electronic components to Russia’s defense sector, the Ukrainian Navy reported on September 29.

“In the night our ‘Neptune’ struck accurately at the Russian Karachev plant ‘Elektrodetal’. Minus one more link in the enemy’s logistics chain. Everything that works for war against Ukraine will be destroyed!” the Ukrainian Navy said in a statement.

The Neptune strike hit the plant that produces electrical connectors and other components used across Russia’s military-industrial base. Ukrainian officials framed the strike as a blow to Moscow’s supply chain for weapons and electronics.

Elektrodetal is part of the Radioelectronic Technologies holding under the state-owned Rostec corporation. Open-source profiles and Russian industry listings show the plant manufactures more than 25,000 types of electrical connectors used in aerospace, defense electronics, instrumentation and other sectors.

Ukrainian and Western analysts have flagged the factory as a supplier to more than 1,500 enterprises within Russia’s military-industrial complex. Local reporting and sanctions lists previously linked the site to defense production.

Ukrainian authorities have also alleged the factory was involved in producing components for FPV drones such as the “Khimera,” which Kyiv and its partners have sought to interdict as part of wider efforts to degrade Russian munitions supply.

Earlier, power outages were reported in Russia’s Belgorod and several nearby towns following strikes on energy infrastructure.
