On the night of February 28, a vehicle exploded in the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol, Donetsk region. According to Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR), the blast occurred around 1:30 a.m., targeting a Dacia SuperNova used by a Russian official.
Preliminary reports suggest the individual inside the vehicle was injured and may be in intensive care. The exact consequences of the explosion are still being clarified.
According to local reports, the vehicle belonged to a member of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). The Mariupol City Council stated that the explosion was carried out by members of the local resistance movement. Ukrainian media, citing intelligence sources, reported that the operation was conducted by HUR.
Earlier, Russian media reported that Vladimir Feshchenko, an FSB officer, was found dead with a gunshot wound inside a Ministry of Defense building in Moscow on January 13. According to preliminary reports, he had brought a former colleague to his workplace, where a war escalated into a fatal shooting. The suspect has been detained and reportedly confessed. Russian law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident.
